Ad tracking

We use Reddit's pixel to measure our Reddit ads. It sets Reddit cookies in your browser. Turn it off here.

In this browser

Reddit's pixel is on. The button below turns it off and sets the rm_noads cookie for one year.

What the pixel does

Reddit's pixel is a small script from Reddit. It tells Reddit the address of the page you view and, once after a signup, that an account was made, so Reddit can tell which of its ads work. It sets the _rdt_uuid cookie, a random ID, and after a Reddit ad click the _rdt_cid cookie, each for 90 days, and sends Reddit your IP address and browser type. We never send Reddit your name, email or household answers, and the pixel never runs on the sign-in link pages or the owner's pages.

Separately, if you arrive from a Reddit ad, we tell Reddit, server to server, when that click leads to a signup, a free trial or a payment. This page does not change that. The details are in section 5 of the Privacy Policy.
